The Weekend.

We had a pretty low-key weekend, and I was more than okay with that! Friday night the hubs and I did what we do best...stayed in and demolished an entire pizza. It's an art form really. ;)

Saturday was pretty much a whirlwind. It was one of those morning where I wished my kids slept in till 10, so I could too.  But, I can't complain because they go to bed early and that's when I get my time by myself and with my hubby. Let's be honest. I live for bedtime. :) Anyways, we were all up by 7, scrambled around like we do every Saturday morning, then headed to the gym for Zumba.

We went straight to Target (shocker!) after we left the gym to pick out a present for Dawson's buddy's birthday party we had later that afternoon. I mean, you think just once I could get my shit together and not buy the gift the day of. Riiiiight. Yeah, I don't see that happening. Like ever. ;) At least there was a reward in coffee form after our tornado of a trip to Target! That usually always makes things better. :) So, naturally we went through the Starbucks drive-thru. After, we headed home to change, eat lunch, and do some heavy praying that this party {that fell right smack dab in the middle of nap-time} wouldn't turn out to be a disaster.  Just for the record--I LOATHE nap-time birthday parties.  But, God was on my side that day and both Dawson and Hudson made it without a no-nap breakdown. :) I'm just thankful Garry saved his lunch break to take during part of the party so I didn't have to play single parent. I may loathe that as much as nap time parties...going to birthday parties sans my husband-definitely not a fan.  I absolutely love watching Dawson interact with his friends, and his excitement when he sees them outside of school. It's just so ridiculously cute! :)
It's a little blurry, but that's what happens when you're trying to corral two little monkeys into taking a picture!
Real life, people. ;)
Daws with his buddies from Preschool! The birthday boy is in the middle :)
Sidenote: My kid looks like a 2nd Grader! What the what?!

If you've never seen 4-year-olds participate in a relay, you really should. It's pure comedy!

The Hubs and I with our sweet little  Hudsie. :)

We had a great time at the party, but after our full day of running around like crazy people I was most definitely counting down the hours until the hubs got home from work so I could leave for Girl's Night Out! But, if we're being honest here...I really had to fight the urge to not put my jammies on and just pass out the instant my kids went to bed!

We met at our usual spot for Mexican and Margs! I love these girls! We met through the gym about 4 years ago and they have become some of my best friends. :)

We spent Sunday relaxing around the house playing with chalk, riding bikes, taking a walk, and having our first water balloon fight! It was a day of good old fashioned family fun. :) Sometimes you just need days where you do nothing except ignore housework and just be a family. Sunday was that day for us. I love my boys and am beyond lucky that I have these three by my side every day!

So when your day starts off with getting donuts at your fave donut place, you KNOW it's gonna be a great day!

Because sometime you just have to indulge...or in my case, overindulge. ;)
Dawson is still learning how to ride with training wheels, but he is finally starting to get the hang of it!

Our indoor toys find their way to the water table a lot. :)
Just for the record, it's perfectly acceptable to eat an ice cream sandwich before lunch on Sunday funday!
Dear Hudson: How are you old enough to ride in this now?! I remember Daws riding in this when he was a baby!
And this is my definition of Sunday funday.

Our first water balloon fight was a success! In fact, Daws has asked me multiple times today if we can have another balloon fight soon. :)

Um, disregard the fact that I look like I belong in Wal-Mart with the way my bra is hanging out. ;)
You're going down, Texeira!

Hope everyone's weekend was wonderful! Here's to a new week...a HOT one for us here in Indiana!

  1. These were great times and beautiful memories. It's a shame that it's all being thrown away like old furniture. I miss being together as a family more than I can explain. Love you!
