5 on Friday-Vacation Edition!

After taking a couple of weeks off due to vacation, I'm ready to link up again with Darci and the gang! Although, I use the term vacation lightly. Yes, it was a break from my glamourous life as a SAHM...Yes, we got to pretend like we were 21 again with some of our favorite friends that we don't get to see as often as we'd like...Yes, we got to sleep in a bit.
But, there were no beaches involved and we were in Toronto for most of the week. See, I told ya...not a hot spot for a vacation. ;) BUT...we did get to see two of our best friends get married and spend time with friends that we have an absolute blast with. It was a much needed break, and I appreciate my family rallying together to make sure the boys were taken care of! They did an amazing job and my husband and I are beyond thankful for all they do for us! 10 days was a looooong time to be away from them, but we made it. Barely...but we made it!
So today I bring you the extra long "vacation" edition of Five on Friday!

ONE. Road Trippin'!

After picking our friends {who were getting married!} up from the Indy airport, we were ready for our 5 hour drive to the island of Put-in-Bay in Ohio!

Here we go!
The traditional road trip "I'm the driver" face brought to you by the hubs.
We weren't sure we were going to make the original ferry we had planned for, but with my hubby's questionable driving speed we made it with time to spare! ;)

It was obviously a windy ferry ride!
So Beautiful!

TWO. Bed and Breakfast
We were lucky enough to be treated to this lovely bed and breakfast during wedding weekend. My friend's, the bride, grandparents are the owners and took great care of us! Seriously, the breakfasts they made every morning were out-of-control good. Pretty sure I gained 10 lbs. in 4 days. True story. We arrived late Friday night and stayed till early Tuesday morning before we left for Toronto. The house has been in the family for 150 years. How awesome was it that they were able to have their rehearsal dinner festivities on the property and get some of their wedding pictures done in the vineyard?!

The old wine cellar. Love this!
How awesome is this gazebo?! This is where we partied it up at the rehearsal dinner.

My hubby is so handsome :)
I want this again. Like right now.
THREE. Shenanigans

So we had some downtime before and after the Sunday wedding. Oh, did I mention it was also pirate weekend on the island?! That's right, eye patches and hooks for the win! ARGH! ;) The night before the wedding after the rehearsal dinne,r we all went out on the town. Thank god the wedding was the following day at 8:00 PM--how's that for good planning?! :) I always pay extra for trying to act like I'm in my 20's again. But it was a damn good time, and I have the pictures to prove it. ;)

The bride and bridesmaid pre-shenanigans!
Festive, eh?

FOUR. Wedding Day!
We were so blessed and honored to be a part of this day. My husband has known the groom for about 15 years and sang in a quartet with him and I've known them both for around 10 years. It was an amazingly beautiful day and we had a blast sipping champagne and dancing our asses off  until the wee hours of the morning. ;) Congratulations Chris and Loren! We love you guys!!

Loren's broach bouquet turned out beautiful!

Love these girls so much!!
My hot date for the wedding! XO

What a fabulous night with wonderful friends!
FIVE. All things Toronto
The majority of the week (Tuesday-Sunday) was spent here for the Annual International Barbershop  Convention (www.barbershop.org) That's right folks, I said barbershop. ;) See...not really a vacation. We left early Tuesday morning to catch the ferry off the island. The road trip continued on to Canada. I was just thankful to be back to civilization...aka-Starbucks!
Yes, please.

I think we finally made it into Toronto around 5:00 PM.  I do love going to International every year because a lot of of our friends from around the world involved in this hobby we only get to see once a year while we are at these conventions. We were super busy all week with contests, shows, and drinking a little  lot of adult beverages. ;) There wasn't much time for sightseeing this time which I was kind of bummed about. But, we had a some down time where we were able to escape for a bit and just relax. My husband's chorus competed in the chorus contest and ended up 7th place in the world! I'm so proud of him and all the guys in the chorus. They have been working their butts off and it definitely paid off! Way to go guys! Here is a hodgepodge of pictures from the week.

We missed our boys so much, but it was so nice to get away for some "us time" !

My friend's husband is also named Gary. My Garry has two r's so they were officially named "one r & double r" ;)

And, this pretty much sums up our week--Champs and Tags.
So as you can see our quirky singing hobby can be fun too. :) No, I don't sing...just a groupie for life. Which I'm certain makes me even more of a nerd, but I'm okay with that. ;)

This last picture was the absolute BEST moment of my week. Dawson missed us so much, and by the end of the week was having a pretty hard time with us being gone. The look on his face was pure joy. While it was nice to get away, this was even better to come home to!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!
