Friendly Reminder

Just when my kids are driving me bat-shit crazy {hence why we're in the car driving to Starbucks to take advantage of their half-price fraps} they do this and remind me why I love them so dang much :)

This week.

Things I'm looking forward to this week:

1. Playdates with friends

2. Dawson's very first Preschool program...excited doesn't even begin to cut it! Note: I'm predicting mine will be the one blowing everyone's ear drums out while picking his nose.

3. The hub's day off. Garry works Saturdays so let's face it, I'm always counting down the days till his day off during the middle of the week. His day off has now switched to Tuesday. So this week that makes the countdown only one sleep. Yes!

4. Mother's Day Tea with Daws at Preschool

5. Spending the weekend with the fam in Wabash for Mother's Day. This includes our traditional Mother's Day Tea luncheon with my Grammie, Mom, sisters, cousin, and aunts.

6. Zumnba Tuesday and Total Conditioning Wednesday. No one can kick my butt more than my fave instructor-Becca

7. And last but not least-Bedtime. I always look forward to bedtime. ;)

Happy Thought for the week in honor of the ridiculously adorable singing that I know I'm going to hear Wednesday night:

Cinco de Mayo

Because who doesn't love a chance to cook up a Mexican feast and drink margs in the middle of the afternoon! I don't know about you but homemade tacos are my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love to go out for Mexican and eat chips & salsa till I can't move...but you just can't beat homemade! So my sisters and I decided to make our own little feast this afternoon, and I must say it was delicioso!
Have I mentioned that I absolutely LOVE my Creative Memories digital software?!
My sisters happily drinking their margs :)
My husband, super excited for a home cooked meal.
Chicken/Beef tacos, Chips/Salsa/Queso, and homemade Guac-yummy!

Teacher Appreciation

With the end of the year and Teacher Appreciation week approaching, I was searching for something to give. I'm a sucker for a theme, and these are the cutest! I plan on getting Dawson's teacher a little something and stumbled across these adorable gift ideas on http://www.the-good-life-blog.com/. I thought they were too cute not to share...

The second time around.

I highly suggest NOT looking at old pictures of your "skinny" self when you are trying to lose baby weight for the second time. It makes me want to immediately starve myself, but that thought quickly leaves and, let's be honest, all I can think about are cupcakes. I hate you Heidi Klum for being able to have a baby, then look like a goddess. Okay, pity party over. But really, the second around really is so much harder. I've been pretty really crappy at the whole eating healthy part (mostly because all I want to do after entertaining 2 kids all day long is collapse in bed with a plate full of junk) but I've been trying to work out at least 4 x's a week. With vacation and weddings coming up, Mama's gotta lose the rest of this weight! So here's to trying to eat healthier...but I think I'll start next Monday...because the hubs just suggested we ordered pizza and after all, it's that time of night where I collapse with junk food. ;)

Let me tell you...this face was TOTALLY worth the second time around baby weight.

B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

So, if I would've tried real bananas with my first child when he was Hudson's age (5 mo.) I'm sure he would've thrown the bowl at my head. No joke. The kid was all puree, all the time. I tried, and tried, and tried, and tried to get him to eat more than baby food. He wasn't having it. Then Hudson came along and it's an entirely different story. Tonight we tried a real mashed up banana for the first time and let me tell ya, he LOVED it! I mixed a little formula with it just because I have a super irrational fear of choking and it pretty much made his night. Avocado is next on the list of "real" foods to try!

Meet our chalk family.

2 things I love about this the most: A. Dawson drew us all holding hands and B. The biggest chalk person is not me.  :)
